Supporting those who serve: RIVIAM Digital Care signs the Armed Forces Covenant

1 October 2026

RIVIAM Digital Care has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and received the Bronze Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme, recognising our commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.

As a family-owned UK sovereign digital services company, we are proud to support the Armed Forces community. Signing the Covenant and receiving the Bronze Award makes that commitment clear.

The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation to those who serve or have served, and their families. It says they should be treated fairly and should not face disadvantage because of their service.

At RIVIAM, social value is about more than what we deliver through digital services. It is also about the kind of organisation we choose to be and the communities we choose to support.

Recognising the value of the Armed Forces community

Serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families make an important contribution to organisations and communities across the UK. The skills, discipline, leadership and experience developed through military service can make a valuable contribution to civilian workplaces. At RIVIAM, we want those strengths to be recognised.

As part of our Covenant commitment, we support the employment of veterans, service leavers, reservists and military spouses and partners. We are committed to fair and inclusive recruitment and to supporting employees who are reservists in balancing their role at RIVIAM with training and mobilisation commitments.

We also warmly welcome applications from members of the Armed Forces community who are interested in joining our multidisciplinary team.

 What our Bronze Award represents

The Bronze Award recognises employers that have signed the Covenant, understand what it means to support the Armed Forces community and communicate that support to their workforce.

Our Bronze Award recognition reflects our commitment to being an Armed Forces-friendly employer and to making that support visible across the business.

Supporting fair access to digital services

Our commitment also extends beyond employment.

RIVIAM develops digital services used across health and social care, so accessibility and inclusion are considered and supported from the outset.

We have committed to considering how serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families may access and use our digital services, including any particular circumstances that could create barriers to their experience. These considerations are part of our analysis, design and development approach.

Fair access matters in employment and in the digital services people may depend on.

How we will put our commitment into practice

Signing the Covenant marks the start of our ongoing commitment.

We will continue to raise awareness of the Armed Forces Covenant across RIVIAM, share relevant information with our team and maintain our relationship with Defence Relationship Management. We will also promote our support publicly and invite feedback from the Armed Forces community and our customers on how we are doing.

Paul Targett, CEO & Co-Founder of RIVIAM Digital Care, said:

“At RIVIAM, we are committed to making digital work better for Armed Forces personnel, particularly when accessing NHS services to support their health and wellbeing."

Receiving the Bronze Award is an important step. We will reflect this commitment in how we recruit, support our colleagues, communicate and design the technology we provide.
