At RIVIAM, we take the privacy and security of your information very seriously. We believe it's important you fully understand how your data is managed when you use this service.

When we refer to 'RIVIAM' we are referring to RIVIAM Digital Care, which provides this service and whose registered office is Cooper House, Lower Charlton Estate, Shepton Mallet, Somerset, England, BA4 5QE.

When we refer to the 'Service Directory' we mean the public website listing local community and voluntary services and the services they offer, including service descriptions, eligibility criteria and contact details, which may name individuals at those organisations. 

Data protection framework

RIVIAM Digital Care is based in the United Kingdom and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number Z8885675. We have aligned this privacy notice with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, under the supervision of the ICO.

This privacy notice sets out how we process and use your personal data while you use the Service Directory, or while your details appear in the Service Directory.

Personal data means information related to an individual who can be identified directly or indirectly from that data. Examples include your name, email address, phone number or postcode. You can read the ICO's definition of personal data for more detail.

The relationship between RIVIAM Digital Care and the healthcare provider

For this service, RIVIAM is the data processor, and the provider of the Service Directory is the data controller.  

The data controller has told us how to use your information in a contract. The data controller  is responsible for having a lawful basis for this. If you have questions about how they capture and use your personal data, please visit their website to read their privacy notice.

Who do we collect information from?

The directory has no log-in and we collect the minimum set of data needed to provide you with the service.

What personal data do we collect and process?

When you visit the Service Directory we record your IP address and search terms. This data is processed and securely logged in RIVIAM in order to respond to your request. 

Your IP address may also be shared with third parties depending on the links on each service page listed which you visit, for example an organisation’s logo or Google Maps. 

If you are a named contact in a listing, the following data may be displayed:

• Name
• Role
• Work email
• Telephone number.

Service Directory listings are reviewed from time to time to keep them accurate. If you are named in a listing and want your details corrected or removed, please contact the data controller (the provider of the Service Directory). 

Cookies

There are no cookies used for the Service Directory public website.

Links to other websites

The Service Directory lists other organisations and may link to their websites. This notice does not cover the privacy of your data should you provide any while visiting those sites. Please read the privacy notice of any other website you visit.

Contacting us or making a complaint

If you have a complaint about how your personal data is handled, please contact the healthcare provider via their contact page. 

For general data protection questions, or to use your rights, please also contact the healthcare provider as they decide how your information is used for this service.

We may change this privacy notice, and, if we do, we will add the changes to this page.
